Gallop Factory
Hobby Horse Make and Race

Welcome to Gallop Factory, Cloudfactory Design’s high-energy make and race creative workshop for accompanied children age 3 and up.
Inspired by traditional hobby horse games and gymkhanas, this workshop reimagines old-fashioned hobby horse riding for today’s festivals and family events and also offers a fun way to mark the Year of the Horse.
It’s part art workshop, part mini-sporting event, and 100% joyful chaos, children and parents together!
Perfect for festivals, outdoor events and community celebrations, Gallop Factory brings together making, movement and imagination
in one vibrant, low-tech, high-energy activity.

Step 1 - Using recycled cardboard, fabrics and art materials, Young makers design and decorate their very own hobby horses in the stable (outdoor workshop), each one a burst of imagination and colour.
Step 2 - Once hobby horses are complete, it’s time to head to the Great Cardboard Gymkhana arena. An obstacle course where children can race their creations against the clock over straw bales, dodge the rope snakes, splash through the water jump, climb through hoops of fire and bubbles.
Step 3 - Race to the finish line and win a badge for taking part. The young riders can then take their hobby horses home with them.

All materials, equipment and full workshop setup are provided. With options to adapt for different ages, venues and event formats.

Commissioned at short notice, once again Lisa delivered the goods, an interactive workshop which delighted children and their adults (some of whom seemed to cheat during the dressage competition) - shocking but that's the modern world for you.
